Societies have digressed to pre-Enlightenment...

Upon recent years' incrementally emboldened presumption then the last year's exponentially boldfaced arrogance, the practice to CENSOR, BAN, DEPLATFORM, CANCEL as well SLANDER, THREATEN, ENDANGER and more have become routine.

To compound further, governments have assumed despotic measures, their pens presidential, ministerial, gubernatorial and mayoral now royal scepters, by mere stroke thus wave whole economics LOCKED DOWN, businesses CLOSED, jobs ENDED, livelihoods DESTROYED, consequently lives DEVASTATED.

So much so the acceptance even embracement of such, societies therefore economies even sciences have digressed to pre-Enlightenment when religion and government imposed the same inhumane tyranny as ongoing presently.

Rescission is rarely discussed and debated as possible solution...

Rescission is rarely discussed and debated as possible solution, less so to actually rescind. Instead, more legislation is assumed then affirmed oft by the thoughtless mantra “something must be done”, thus any reluctance or resistance immediately met with fierce, moral judgment from most within government, media as well the Romanesque mob allegedly awakened (once again) per some social consciousness ill-defined. Particularly amid crisis where fear immediately festers then foments among the citizenry, therefore the pressure mounts, the posture stiffens, the pen spots post hoc and signs any legislation appearing resolute and declaring absolute. Astonishing!

Until all riots of 2020/21 are consistently condemned...then there is no moral high ground...

Until all riots of 2020/21 are consistently condemned, until all instigators, encouragers and supporters of those riots are consistently charged, then there is no moral high ground for selectively condemning one of the riots then arbitrarily charging one of the instigators.

That is to say, if to be connivingly, collusively, conspiratorially driven, then political, legal justification can be conjured as well moral, ethical validation can be contrived, only by first discarding consistency in favor of convenience and expedience. With that said, the entire history of United States have been digressively, incrementally then aggressively, exponentially so driven therefore long conveniently justifying and expediently validating.

Concisely, preceding all harm as individually perceived by one is covetousness as individually conceived by another...

Comparatively, if another transgresses the individual’s rights hence the individual’s dissent, the transgressor have already coveted then presumed prior to the arrogance and act. By such transgression, not only are the individual’s Lockean rights certainly molested, firstly and gravely disregarded, grossly disrespected the Singular Human Right to Consent or Dissent on all matters, as exercised, elected and expressed per the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason. This too is an equation as consistently so.

Concisely, preceding all harm as individually perceived by one is covetousness as individually conceived by another.

Why prioritized the right to consent or dissent as “firstly and gravely”? For any list, enumeration, bill, or declaration of rights, whether by John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Eleanor Roosevelt (as first chair of UN Commission on Human Rights), are nothing more than political arrangements, justified only if unanimously consented else transgressions simply legalized. Thusly imperative, such conditions must be well founded on the only actual right as preferred and practiced by every human being since time immemorial so to reiterate; the propensity and preference therefore right to consent or dissent on literally all matters.

To consistently understand liberty thus morality, one should comparably, rightly understand perversion...

To consistently understand liberty thus morality, one should comparably, rightly understand perversion by the most contemptible, abominable, barbarous, nefarious as well depraved, reprobated of definitions. So it follows. Perversion; to consent or dissent on all matters per one’s preference, yet remain discontented, disconcerted even disturbed until others act, speak even think compatibly, similarly even acceptably whether by force legal or force illegal.

Understanding that perfect knowledge is not achievable should never be used as an excuse for not engaging in the search for it...

"To be completely adequate, our knowledge ought to admit of analysis after analysis ad infinitum, so that adequate knowledge would be impossible. But we may consider any knowledge adequate which carries the analysis sufficiently far for the purpose in view."

W. Stanley Jevons (1835-1882)

Further affirmation of a mantra of mine "Study, Ponder, Labor, till Last Breath." concluding every installment in my latest book. For as Mr. Jevons suggested (above) long ago, knowledge may be searched, gathered, studied, tested, determined, noted, reaching some adequacy for application, but never "settled" as politicized science promulgates even imposes today.

Relatedly, as I posted a week ago...

"Understanding that perfect knowledge is not achievable should never be used as an excuse for not engaging in the search for it."

Dr. Ron Paul

Similarly, one of two longstanding mantras of mine Biblically inspired (2 Tm 2:15 / Cl 3:23), "Study, Ponder, Labor, till Last Breath." Perhaps, Dr. Paul and I have been pouring from the same damn bottle of whiskey. :-)

But the thing that I saw in your face, no power can disinherit...

Your name and your deeds were forgotten
Before your bones were dry
And the lie that slew you is buried
Under a deeper lie

But the thing that I saw in your face
No power can disinherit
No bomb that ever burst
Shatters the crystal spirit

George Orwell (1903-1950)

Note:
Verse written in 1939, published later in his 1943 book Looking Back on the Spanish War. The poem although the last 4 lines particularly, I have long woolgathered even pondered as encouraging, inspiring words.

A few stanzas for an epic I've worked on from time to time...

VIOLENT CONFUSION, SILENT CONFESSION
by D.C. Quillan Stone

Note:
A few stanzas for an epic I've worked on from time to time during the last 2-3 years. May become a book of poetry and art (pencil sketches) or not, who knows.

Walls then shelves `round the pelf of pride
The hidden Self, in kind the curt bromide
Backslidden his love, red-bitten her gloves
Silent the screams like two tormented doves

Wounds thereof, rune'd by songs the soul
For the wrongs unconsoled per the old scrolls
Stained by mascara-tears, bane by chimera-years
Hence swan and swain feigned as well austere

As Cain the veneer, fear fitly although marked
Or a dog-eared book with each page earmarked
Her semantics peculiar, his poetics’ swagger
Tore at hearts liken ardor-assassins’ daggers

O passion’s cadavers, lost mid lovers’ wars
Tossed to floors, thrown to fires; paramours
Although zealous lunatics of some asylum
Ranting, dancing stark `twixt Roman columns

Affixed both the dead and undead to the novel
Dull eyes transfixing on brook and waterfall
As ashes across waters race per the white rush
For thirty winters or so till twilight’s last hush

Swilling the loss as gin per chasm by schism
Bended well her art’s colors by agony’s prism
Tended well he by cynicism, his tunes unheard
Rhymes unstirred, thus buried upon myrrh’ed

Without the usual curse and cause to blame
Like verse on card `hind vase to madly flame
Hearts insist, souls persist, their minds twist
In wintry winds, coveting the final time kissed

Truth flirts the urge while coerces the purge
Both in fear, neither to sneer, nearing a dirge
Fork in toll road, owed the tokens still aught
Tho’ fretting the cost of lane less taken (or not)

--- dreams by day, drinks by night ---

Cold the crown, old the gown, final the rites
Solemn the night, low the light, all seems trite
For nothing matters when Death explicates
Then culminates, ergo obfuscating Life’s state

Yet amid the atomic coma, her tattoo blued
As poetry bruised, bloodied (thus pain’s muse)
Raven tress draping, caressing her nape fair
O’er tongue `tween lips, her words quite rare

Como los vinos de Mendoza o Pataogonia
O como lasgriegas sangres oscuras y místicas
Conquistadas por las tristezas de la pasión
Y confundidas por los miedos de la razón

Ah, endless the convocation, conviction too
Properly the consummation when Death so cues
Life seduced by distant flame, reduced, framed
Vim lastly exclaimed, `fore the vigor reclaimed

A rose wilts `twixt pale breasts, eyes so coined
Cold the loins, stiff her hands, love purloined
Enjoined to eternity among the souls countless
Ridding the toil, shedding the coil, such largesse

--- awake, sober thus eulogizing ---

The fairness of her creativity (maybe a lie)
Coalesces in the soul of eternity (oddly wry)
The conception of nativity aye (still, to recall)
Delivered by a brighten medium (tho’ banal)

The lumen of hidden things (ah to wander)
Are encountering and fugitive (else maunder)
Elusive, absorbing, transient (lost and resigned)
Stalwartly engaging, panoramas (in her mind)

Of secrets, truths, blends, hues
Colors of science and wisdom
Tints of philosophy and theology
Meadows low, pinnacles high

Tides throwing benevolent arms
Upon the desolate continents
The masses’ motive to rush
The sea, and thee, a worthy key

To unobstructed dialogue, and
Unimaginable resplendence

--- fading memory, bottle emptying ---

Perhaps digressed and to suggest something else
Some pell-mell, headlong to Hell’s distant bells
Or heart quelled by resilience, soul by persistence
Mind by insistence thusbodybygritty diligence

The fairness of her creativity
Coalesces in the soul of eternity
The conception of nativity aye
Delivered by a brighten medium
The lumen of hidden things
Are encountering and fugitive
Elusive, absorbing, transient
Stalwartly engaging, panoramas
Of secrets, truths, blends, hues
Colors of science and wisdom
Tints of philosophy and theology
Meadows low, pinnacles high
Tides throwing benevolent arms
Upon the desolate continents
The masses’ motive to rush

A controlling characteristic or personality is consistently pathological...

A controlling characteristic or personality is consistently pathological, else it is not...

Within a relationship, it is quite COMMON to consider the one as pathological if persisting and insisting the other to think, speak and/or act per the former's presumption well rooted in covetousness. Particularly condemned upon coercion exacted or force inflicted.

HOWEVER, regarding the same disturbing dynamic elsewhere...

Within a societal thus governmental arrangement, it is quite RARE to consider the minority or majority as pathological if persisting and insisting the other to think, speak and/or act per the former's presumption well rooted in covetousness in the coercive or forceful forms of political platforms, policies, programs therefore laws, regulations, taxes, fees, licenses, bans/sanctions, prohibitions, wars and more.

To be inconveniently clear, only presumption well rooted in covetousness would allow exceptions for one's politics. For politics is nothing more than the debate, pursuit and struggle for power therefore coercion or force over others' person, people (family), propensity, prerogative, preference, pursuit, profession, purse, possession and property.

The laws of thought are natural laws with which we have no power to interfere... Quote by W. Stanley Jevons...

"The laws of thought are natural laws with which we have no power to interfere, and which are of course not to be in any way confused with the artificial laws of a country, which are invented by men and can be altered by them."

W. Stanley Jevons (1835-1882)

As quoted in his book Thinking as a Science, Henry Hazlitt (1894-1993) recommends Mr. Jevons' book Elementary Lessons In Logic: Deductive & Inductive. Thus immediately upon reading the quote a few months ago, I purchased the latter and now well into the book. Inspiring!

As much as we have no power to interfere with laws of thought as the quote above suggests, or perhaps no right to interfere per common human propensity to dissent against the interference (as I prefer to suggest), government insists and persists to expend resources, exert effort as well exercise compulsion so to persuade individual thought therefore manipulate collective behavior. Thusly provided in part by centrally designed pedagogy, funded in part by centrally planned economy, the persuasion and manipulation are for the sole purpose to preempt the otherwise rightfully self-interested dissent in favor of facilitating craftily imbued consent.

Quote from Ron Paul's book The End of Unearned Opulence...

"Understanding that perfect knowledge is not achievable should never be used as an excuse for not engaging in the search for it."

Dr. Ron Paul

His book is a short but noteworthy as well quite timely read. I recommend it.

Upon a very wintry eve in northwest Mississippi...

Upon a very wintry eve in northwest Mississippi, upper 20s F, trees weighing heavy and car doors sealed shut with ice, thus warming the human body and soul with centuries old traditions as German cabbage soup, English tea, Memphis distilled rye whiskey as well more recent traditions such as Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Paul Desmond, Blue Mitchell, John Coltrane, Chet Baker seductively exuding from the Marshall speaker...

On my knee is the 1916 book Thinking as a Science by one of my favorite writers/thinkers Henry Hazlitt (1894-1993), though having read long ago his more notable works Economics in One Lesson (1946) and truly his hallmark in my opinion, The Foundations of Morality (1964).

"Liberty is the essential basis, the sine qua non, of morality. Morality can only exist in a free society, it can exist to the extent freedom exists."

The circus presently engaged and regaled as "impeachment"...

The circus presently engaged and regaled as "impeachment" is merely symptomatic per decades of public education as administered by elementary, high, collegiate as well graduate/doctorate schools, thereby perpetuating intellectual even psychological adolescence well into latter adulthood thus unrelenting reliance on reactionary emotionalism easily stirred and incited. In this way, both major parties along with government at large have been complicit longstanding.

The follow-up to previous book thus entitled More Proems & Poems on the Peculiar Human ABILITY to REASON, Singular Human RIGHT to CONSENT & Other Neglected Matters...

To appropriately reiterate (see previous book’s Nos. 22-29, 33-34), each and every act disregarding the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent on any and all matters, inseparably disrespecting the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, is unequivocally, categorically Violence or Force against the individual’s sole distinction as the specie human thus reasonable among all other species nonhuman thus instinctive.

Immediately preceding the violent act is the transitional prerequisite Presumption, as conceived initially, festered subsequently by Covetousness. The moment Covetousness ponders some course of action to confiscate an object, intrude a condition or manipulate a behavior by violence or force against the dissented, Presumption forms then swells. It is by Presumption’s cancerous effect, Covetousness insidiously expands to further coveting a posture superior, Aryan-esque even God-like over fellow specie members per the aforementioned disregard and disrespect. By so doing, human(s) are targeted and objectified as subhuman, for denied the one essence and sole distinction, the natural capacity to reason manifested by the natural prerogative to consent or dissent.

When power combines with secrecy.

Frankly, it is a concerning if not disturbing but at times simply tiring the prevailing convenience, expedience as well ignorance driving every slander of late towards any dissent as "conspiracy theory" along with racism, white-nationalism, fascism and so forth.

Not all conspiracy theories involve aliens disguised in suits and ties, tin-foil hats against gamma rays, and more.

With as much government secrecy incrementally longstanding as well increasingly ongoing, is it so extreme to contemplate the many indeterminable unknowns based on the few determinable knowns? What do we know of government's vast secrecy? Well, that is the point, isn't it. We can't know thus don't know. Consequently as an unknown, we can't determine it, calculate it, measure it, assess it.

As I stated prior. "People have allowed for decades the US Government and corporate cronies to operate much in secrecy in the name of security. Yet if secret then how do people know they are secure by it, or know the breadth and depth since secrecy by its very nature is indeterminable thus immeasurable. Within this vast unknown called secrecy, will some still deny the vast unchecked, unrestrained space for potential collaboration, collusion and conspiracy?"

As Lord Acton well stated and I concisely paraphrase, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely!" So it is and exponentially more so when power combines with secrecy.

Sporting events too politicized?

Those who contend American sporting events (i.e. last night's Super Bowl) have recently become too politicized, also inconsistently ignore, dismiss or justify the politicization longstanding per years even decades incorporating US militarism, police-statism along with patriotism or nationalism thus exceptionalism well demonstrated and displayed by anthems, hymns, flags, pledges, salutes, banners, academy bands, honor guards, flyovers, etc.

To distinguish one as appropriate while another as inappropriate is nothing more then politically preferential arbitrariness. Sporting events are private affairs, economic transactions of various sorts and scales, no different than consumers patronizing concerts, theaters, restaurants, shopping malls, grocery stores and more.

Should such aforementioned politicization, always bent towards one particular persuasion or preference versus another, precede all private economic activities, or perhaps appropriately, rightly therefore consistently be apart of none?

In today’s democracies peopled with minds well propagandized by government funded schools, two or more sets of principles coexist, rarely questioned the inconsistencies if raised at all. First and privately, a person lives by whatever preferred set of principles driven in part by religion, philosophy and/or sentiment, combined harmonious but more likely disharmonious with inherent propensities regarding their own life, liberty and property. Second and publicly, the same person supports whatever preferred set of principles; sometimes organized as partisan planks and platforms, else formed by trendy isms per academia or media, perhaps wildly melding an array of political postures per personal attachments, however the mode, always in contrast partly or wholly to inherent propensities regarding their own life, liberty and property.

It is by this oddly practiced dualism, violence assured and embedded covertly or overtly in political/legal systems. Unavoidable as well prerequisite of course are the disregard for the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent on all matters intimate, private, philosophical, , public, social, political, consequently, ethical, inseparably the disrespect for the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason.

Sunday morning breakfast...

Sunday morning breakfast; Colombian coffee beans French roasted and espresso'ed, topped with Reddi-Wip cream of Indiana and Hershey's chocolate syrup of Pennsylvania and similar chocolate on the side, along with fine Venezuelan rum while listening to Gregorian, Russian Orthodox and Armenian chants upon reading something theologically Reformed by long passed-on writers German, Dutch, English, Scottish, aft' reading something economically laissez-faire by long passed-on writers Austrian, French, Taoist, American of various ethnicities.

Only among FREE MARKETS FREELY TRADING, that is to say, economic activities without borders, individual actions without governments' interferences, restraints, regulations, taxes, sanctions, bans, prohibitions as well without subsidies thus without mitigations of each and every person's responsibilities and risks, may such DIVERSITY be rightly desired, obtained, practiced therefore "sustainably" even robustly continued... Logically defined, Politics is the pursuit to influence and/or control political power, legal force, that is to say, the power thus force to manipulate and confiscate others' behavior and resource without their consent. The method to determine the use of power or force by democracy, oligarchy or tyranny matters not. The method to implement the use of power or force by communism, fascism or cronyism and their popular pacifier socialism matters not. For all are clashes between political prerogatives versus personal preferences, legal force versus human will, government taking liberties plural versus individuals exercising liberty singular.

Rather it is Ethics not Politics that desires freedom for oneself and all others thus a return to individual responsibility and risk. It is Ethics not Politics that seeks liberation from government's shackles and chains hung heavy upon everyone's person, preference, possession and property. And it is Ethics not Politics that insists the regard for one's own Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent on all matters, inseparably demands the respect for one's own Peculiar Human Ability to Reason on all matters. Politics is contrary even hostile to all such things.

To my daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, who I love more than they know. It is my hope they someday will read this book when aged enough by human experiences hence mildly or gravely despondent over the human yet quite inhumane experiments, that is, the political and social monstrosities called Government.

Consequently in somewhat chronological order; the Taoist and Greek writers, the Apostles and their Gospels and Epistles, the Early Church writers, the theologians and economists of the School of Salamanca, Roger Williams (his book The Bloudy Tenent of Persecution for Cause of Conscience), John Locke, Richard Cantillon, John Stuart Mill, Anne Robert Jacques Turgot, Jean-Baptiste Say, Claude-Frédéric Bastiat (of course the essay The Law as well his complete works), Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton (his article No. 84 only) thus the Federalist Papers, then the arguably preferred Anti-Federalist Papers therefore contributors, Patrick Henry (his fiery speech at the Virginia Ratifying Convention), writers and orators like Ohiyesa (Charles Eastman) as well chiefs Red Jacket, Joseph, Luther Standing Bear, Seattle and others (as compiled by numerous historians), Henry David Thoreau, Lysander Spooner, Mark Twain (his short story/prose War Prayer) and the American Anti-Imperialist League, Carl Menger, Eugen Böhm von Bawerk, Ludwig von Mises (particularly his books Liberalism and Human Action), F.A. It should be noteworthy for Americans... Many others abroad of left, right, liberal, conservative and other persuasions are gravely concerned of United States digressing further towards (or into) Fascistic totalitarianism. A digression as I assess it, upon years and decades of bipartisan ill formed platforms and policies as governmental prerequisites incrementally longstanding until exponentially of late.

Ignorantly, many Republicans are alleging the Democrats as ushers of Communism and Socialism, when in truth the latter are not whether aware or unaware. United States' two major parties have always preferred Fascism's "top-down regulatory" methodology so to control some, most then all of the economy oppose to Communism's "bottom-up confiscatory methodology. Additionally, both major parties, not just one over the other, well supported then implemented (and still do) bipartisan Socialism along with Paternalism, Police-Statism, Militarism/Imperialism, Monetarism and more, again, whether aware or unaware.

The parties Democrat and Republican have certainly, equally led the country to this present dire juncture. To understand it differently will foster erroneous conclusions thus foment disastrous solutions.
