It started with an idea

It started with an idea and working title My Allegiance (purposely misleading) in 2006 while writing thematically related verses for the 4th book Commentaries by an American Poet. At the time, I was conducting a 6-week solo peace demonstration in front of the Alabama state capitol in Montgomery, when on a hot August afternoon while looking down Dexter Avenue from the capitol steps, I decided to write a book on "my allegiance" to peace and liberty oppose to merely a flag and a country-turned-empire. Although it became immediately clear, more reading, studying and pondering were necessary thus repeated a thousand times in preparation. Of course many books, essays, lectures, articles, interviews, podcasts, videos, etc have influenced this project, it was the particular re-reading the two treatises by Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) entitled Human Action and Liberalism: In the Classical Tradition that morphed the emphasis from peace and freedom to the Singular Human Right to Consent, thus inseparably the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason.

Note:
The lower 4 photos were taken by sympathetic onlookers and a local journalist in August 2006. The journalist's photo led to a short news radio interview as well. Obviously, photos were taken prior to the suit and fedora era... :-)

And I continue unashamed to egomaniacally quote myself... :-)

And I continue unashamed to egomaniacally  quote myself... :-)

As quoted from my forthcoming 10th book entitled 100 Proems & Poems on the Peculiar Human ABILITY to REASON, Singular Human RIGHT to CONSENT & Other Neglected Matters. Performing my final review, to be published/available in a few weeks...

"The good citizen, the obedient subject and the sacrificial patriot are always the objectives of government, thus externally generous as internally anxious to educate the youth, the preferred means to the coveted ends. For truly coveted are individuals’ life, liberty and property, so much so, government will forcefully take them from individuals or cleverly convince individuals to give them up quite willingly."

D.C. Quillan Stone

"The third Jeffersonian right, the unalienable Pursuit of Happiness, have become the copious denotation, fallacious justification and erroneous summation of all rights conjured thereafter. Encouraging political otherwise criminal actions to underwrite imaginary rights, while theft and confiscation are justified even moralized as taxation and eminent domain."

D.C. Quillan Stone

"If the aims of United States were peace as declared by President Bush in 2004, then were aims achieved, for whom, and at what cost? If not ambitions of empire, then someone, anyone identify and define the objectives for two centuries (and more) of violently aspirant preoccupation towards domination. Determined to perpetuate the fiction, President Obama declared at the 2009 inauguration, “America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.” O Peace; an era yet begun thus a role yet played. Regrettably, Christian-Americans persist to hymn their hypocrisy to the Prince of Peace, as Other-Americans insist to glorify their trifles and arbitraries, while hailing as God’s anointed or morally enlightened their preferred warmongering Caesars."

CONFESSION IV - Arrogant Bastards

Most likely to be published later this spring of 2018, my 10th book currently entitled; 100 Proems & Poems on the HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT & Other Neglected Matters. The following will probably be included upon further editing, and front cover below merely a working version....

CONFESSION IV - Arrogant Bastards

While writing this book, there persisted a hounding (from heaven) conviction for appropriate self-condemning in addition to contending, confessing as well condemning of others, Oddly yet rightly, this poem serves the purpose quite well. When first drafting the verse with a smirk on face and sting of truth on the rocks, intentions were of course more satirical thus less actual. Nonetheless, God used time to methodically, pointedly, applicably reverse the effect. So as originally noted, quoted and composed for the book Commentaries of an American Poet (Jan 2007)…

Note:
While listening to Green Day’s American Idiot CD, written on 27 October 2005.

There is a great amount of poetry within
unconscious fastidiousness.

Marianne Moore (1887-1972)

Poets are arrogant bastards, opportunistic romantics
Whining, sniveling, pining, reminiscing, proselyting
As though patrons hesitate on every verb and adverb
Adjectively alienable yet solitarily co-dependent
To the psycho-babble bullshit immersed in the egoism
Permeating the intellect, where the sub-consciousness
Lose identities, conjunctional collisions of non-beings
Where Parmenides’ one becomes elusively ostensible
Or is it so, the shrouded consciousness joins hip-to-hip
To ancestral continuity inheriting both sins and blessings
A trough of self-exaltation, a horn of plenteous conceit
Hence, wise is the stoic silence of the indigenous
Wake me up…when humility rains upon the parade

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 100

PROEM & POEM No. 100 - So What Is Individualism / Reprise ~

As part of any family, clan, social club, religious organization, ideological institution, school or university, political party or government, country or union, a person never ceases to be individual. Even upon acquiescing and subjecting individuality to collectivity, a person never ceases to reason thus consent (or not) to arrangements, that is, weighing cost versus benefit among options, whether under threat of nonpolitical violence or political force versus the absence of the same. Such naturally logical deliberations by innately reasonable individuals precede and coincide all collective arrangements, for both initial and continual participation. Collective action thus existence depends on individual action thus existence. If not so, then why Collectives’ ever-present and ever-growing expense to convince as well coerce consenting as well ever-present and ever-growing dissenting Individuals.

Again, for as much those among polity reason and consent to “this or that” for themselves and presumptuously on behalf of others, so equally do those among the citizenry reason and consent to “that or this” for themselves. Empirically inescapable the conflict between political presumption versus personal prerogative, for each and every person inwardly expects as well outwardly demands the respect and regard for their own Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, inseparably the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent.

---

O Pax Humanum, carissimum te esse mibi; deleteriously
Injuriously thus he and she, Libertatem; goddamn Tyrannies
Isms of all inhumane sorts upon adroit purports per cohorts
Exploiting as exploited, drones and androids bribed by torts

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 99

PROEM & POEM No. 99 - So What Is Individualism ~

So what is Individualism if not the variations among nebulous even specious equivocations; self reliance or determination, even selfishness or greed, and so on impractically as well detrimentally? Since the turn of the 21st century, the latter have been a newly popular argument gaining momentum so to mendaciously condemn Individualism as antisocial, uncharitable even callous. The former, older argument retorts quickly, steadfastly while minutely appropriate, thus defending with no more precision than the later, vague accusation. Consequently, both lack practical application without ethical dilemmas.

Concisely hence precisely, Individualism is the constant respect and consistent regard towards each and every person’s Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, inseparably the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent, prerequisite to all matters intimate, private, philosophical, spiritual, theological, public, social, political, that is to say, all matters ethical synonymously all matters human. By this, all actions or activities between two to two-million or more individuals are inherently, invariably judged regardless of polities, legalities, theologies, philosophies, ideologies, popularities, categorically upon disrespect and disregard; presumptuous arbitraries, magnanimous fantasies or gratuitous whimsies.

---

O Pax Humanum , carissimum te esse mibi, connaturally
Companionably, he then she, Libertatem, consequently
Inferably feral the human reasoning, soon the consenting
Or attuned dissenting, if impugned the fuckin’ shackling

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 98

PROEM & POEM No. 98 - Jefferson, Epicurean or Lockean / Part 3 ~

Whether motivated by Epicurus (as classically interpreted), John Locke or other sources, Mr. Jefferson’s posture led to the vague coinage Pursuit of Happiness. Indeed, a commonly desirous state of mind, that is to say “to be happy”, yet erroneously categorizing a desirable, psychological context as unalienable and rightful, without particular definition thus without practical application, without empirical logic thus without observable consistency.

To exasperate further, the plural view of rights was inherited and perpetuated by United States’ cofounder, later protracted and promulgated into additional flamboyancies utopian (see Nos. 27-28), arguably unsubstantiated, economically unsustainable, as well inescapably constant the disregard for the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent, inseparably the disrespect for the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason.

What then are life, liberty, property, happiness, freedoms of speech, press, religion, or more recently, publicly funded education of all levels, healthcare of all sorts, welfare or basic income guarantee, various subsidies, grants, etc., but merely collective pursuits thus not rights, and if ethical then by individual therefore unanimous consent, else as unethical whether by the dissent of one versus one million.

---

O Libertatem, carissimum te esse mibi, per reasoning
Consenting or dissenting, since humanity’s beginning
Empirically the consistency, self-evidently the logic
Without rarity, equipoising by the one and only ethic

---

Come let us Reason. Peace is always a Choice.

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 97

PROEM & POEM No. 97 - Jefferson, Epicurean or Lockean / Part 2 ~

If the intent was ideological progression or clarification regarding unalienable right(s), then Mr. Jefferson failed miserably, facilitating (perhaps) unintentionally yet incited (quite) dangerously towards further elaborations even exaggerations till present manifestations; unapologetic covetousness per unashamed hedonism heralded unaccountably as “my rights” unendingly. The summum bonum on the matter has digressed to mere preference, consequently no logic, no consistency thus no constraint and no reservation to presumptuously declare, arbitrarily condemn and forcefully act against the individual’s Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent on all matters, therefore against his/her life, liberty and property.

The third Jeffersonian right, the unalienable Pursuit of Happiness, have become the copious denotation, fallacious justification and erroneous summation of all rights conjured thereafter (see Nos. 25-29). Encouraging political otherwise criminal actions to underwrite conjured rights, theft and confiscation are justified even moralized as taxation and eminent domain (or earlier, U.S. Manifest Destiny). To side-note, murder is as well regarded, commended even honored per various politically desired therefore publically funded means; abortion, execution, expansion by invasion hence occupation or annexation. Digressively, if rights can be so presumptuously expanded at the expense of others, likewise with far less ease domestic laws and foreign/military policies.

---

O Libertatem, carissimum te esse mibi, yet the propensity
Loins for coins as ancient temple harlotry, liberty for subsidy
Chants for grants, exchanges for privileges, sole right recanted
For threshed on floor the mind from body per soul decanted

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 93

PROEM & POEM No. 93 - The Economic Bomb

Inversely and more broadly, while by government’s public schools the modern warrior as well civilian are propagandized thus predisposed, it is by government’s central banks the modern war as well various forms of socialism, cronyism and all other Isms (save one, see No. 32) are subsidized thus perpetuated. Without central banks, governments would be constrained by collected taxes and tariffs alone, that is, far more constrained than realistically possible by constitutional articles, clauses and/or amendments. The failure of the 2nd U.S. Constitution to constrain government should be empirically evident.

As it is, supplementing the primary direct taxation as a secondary indirect taxation, central banks can (and do quite regularly) expand the money supply through various schemes masked as monetary policies, consequently devaluing currency in private accounts over time, deflation of the dollar by inflation of prices and wages, therefore reducing individual purchasing power. These few wizards behind the curtains routinely and presumptuously decide on behalf of unsuspecting citizenry, often without transparency and always without approval, while unconcerned like conspiring thieves of their disrespect and disregard for others’ Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, inseparably the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent.

---

O violence, the devil, Individualism's archest of rivals
Rendering unsustainable, every economy’s survival
Instead, pockets are pilfered prior to coins chronicled
While truth so filtered, and lies pillared as God’s oracles

HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 71

Most likely to be published early 2018, my 10th book currently entitled; 100 Proems & Poems on the HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT & Other Neglected Matters. The following will probably be included upon further editing, and front cover below merely a working version....

PROEM & POEM No. 71 - Patriotism: Principle, Propaganda or Psychosis

Patriotism (see No. 5), the oddest of Isms, is always rooted in lofty rhetoric, forming arbitrary notions even whimsical fantasies, inciting passions for reverence of country, flag, government and war(s). Often involving folklore or myth entwined with selected actualities, embellishing further over time, and so goes the country’s founding and subsequent histories. This alluring blend of fact and fiction are revised and retold again and again within publicly funded classrooms, political convention halls and colluding newsrooms, emboldening self-absorbed notorieties and celebrities, benighted artists and writers/poets, empathetically misguided clergies and psychologists as well others. Convenient and deviant, the political goals are nothing less than obedience, devotion and allegiance to government’s call for obligation socially and duty militarily. The expectation and exchange is for power, requiring the sacrifice of the individual’s property and liberty at least, at most the individual’s life.

Interestingly in contrast to this strange fervor, the very same dynamics (schemes) are judged as propaganda in combating, competing even coexisting countries, and rightly so however biased. Such is the inherent nature of patriotism, prejudicially determining while tendentiously self-unaware, therefore intentionally or unintentionally disrespecting and disregarding the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, inseparably the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent of others thereupon undermining their own unknowingly.

---

By chariots of lights or flames, so-call liberty thus came
Endowed by maidens with swords liken nymphs to maim
Coveting blood-fame as goddesses per claimed allegiance
Voluptuously, unsustainably, unashamed the indulgence

Blessed are the Peacemakers and Merry Christmas!

Joyeux Noël, 2005 film directed by Christian Carion, beautifully even poetically scripted in three languages, starring Daniel Brühl, Guillaume Canet, Benno Fürmann, Diane Kruger, Gary Lewis and others. Perhaps the greatest Christmas film ever made, based on various spontaneous events, militarily unofficial even condemned later by some, when opposing combatants along the western front during WW1 laid down their arms, shook hands, exchange drinks and greetings on Christmas Eve 1914. May they forever be remembered as men and veterans not of war but of peace.

One of the film's songs, Hymne des Fraternisés (long version), also known as I'm Dreaming of Home...

Glenn Frey (1948-2016)

One of these nights, when in Winslow Arizona, I will pause while standing on a corner just before a tequila sunrise, as another wannabee desperado in mind or perhaps just some new kid in town and in heart, knowing his songs in some small way, will help me in the long run to take it easy, and find that peaceful easy feeling for one brief moment... Raising a shot of courage to you, Glenn!

Glenn Frey (1948-2016)

Note:
I remember in high school, one could not turn on an AM station, most FM stations as well, without one of his songs on the air. Many a summer afternoon in the mid 1970s, while hangin' out at the American river or north fork of the Yuba up in the Sierras, his tunes were blaring from the rocky riverbank.
