My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them....

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' "interests," I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can."

Barry M. Goldwater (US Senator/writer/businessman, 1909-1998)

Note:
I prefer such a platform, a "rescission only" platform, the one platform sustainable as well ethical. Why I say "ethical"? For further legislation requires further enforcement, that is, further use of force by the consented upon the dissented thus further disrespect and disregard for the individual's Singular Human Right to Consent versus Dissent on ALL matters.

And yes, I'm sure there is something this man did or said that I or you find disagreeable. But plainly, a fact or truth remains fact or truth no matter who says it, therefore no less, no more true regardless the person's character or history.

A person will always disappoint. Always! Meanwhile something factual, truthful, logical, consistent thus ethical may challenge you, even frustrate, discomfort, pain, suffer, offend and anger you, although teach, strengthen then mature you, but never disappoint.
