HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT - Proem & Poem No. 49

Most likely to be published early 2018, my 10th book currently entitled; 100 Proems & Poems on the HUMAN ABILITY to REASON, HUMAN RIGHT to CONSENT & Other Neglected Matters. The following will probably be included upon further editing, and front cover below merely a working version....

PROEM & POEM No. 49 - To Emote is Common and Constant / 1st Reprise

The emphasis of course is human reasoning, always the dominant dynamic over instinct as well emotion. However, it is quite true, not every individual exercises the dominant dynamic consistently, whether by choosing to give into their emotion with beneficial or detrimental outcomes, instinct too, or simply unwilling to choose otherwise. A person appearing to unable to choose contrary to emotion or instinct, is merely one unwilling to do so due to behavioral patterns long established per initially proactive determination, but patterns always susceptible even vulnerable to a single choice to alter them.

The point is, an individual’s humanity is not defined by emotion or instinct, characteristics shared in part or whole among other species, rather by the Peculiar Human Ability to Reason, inseparably the Singular Human Right to Consent or Not Consent. It is by this ability and right, individuals reason and choose to be loving, happy, even sad and mournful, and by such choices magnify these great expressions far beyond other species, exemplified in humanity’s music, art, literature, poetry and more.

---

Torn and spilled the flesh then blood from time’s birth
As water gushes from pierced sides upon sanguine earth
No glory, no honor, amid gory fields of human fodder
Solely gov’t mules to beat, later to eat aft’ the slaughter

---

Come let us Reason. Peace is always a Choice.
