Quotes by Lao Tzu and King Solomon

"Government, with its laws and regulations more numerous than the hairs of an ox, is a vicious oppressor of the individual, and more to be feared than fierce tigers." --- Lao Tzu (6th Century - 4th century BC)

"For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof." --- King Solomon (990-931 BC)

Lao Tzu made the observation by rightly connecting political oppression to the mere volume of laws, regulations, taxes, policies, programs, etc. Several centuries earlier Solomon, although royally part of the bureaucratic problem, rightly reverse-engineered political excess or oppression back to the source as the "transgression of a land" or sins of the people.

Of course what would be that transgression or sin if not well rooted in covetousness. By this motivation, people proceed by petition and/or vote to selfishly utilize government's force upon others so to manipulate or regulate their behavior, extort or tax their possession, confiscate or seize their property, even incarcerate or terminate their existence if so inhumanely driven. Ironically, the very bureaucracy initially created then incrementally expanded will eventually turn against those who first coveted.

Economic and Academic Bombs

Among all possible monopolies, government monopolization of currency first then education are the two worst, most far-reaching thus devastating...

"Perpetual vigilance on the part of the citizens can achieve what a thousand laws and dozens of alphabetical bureaus with hordes of employees never have and never will achieve: the preservation of a sound currency." --- Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973)

“The most urgent necessity is not that the State should teach, but that it should allow education. All monopolies are detestable, but the worst of all is the monopoly of education." --- Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850)

...Thus both addressed in my previous and forthcoming books, described as Economic and Academic Bombs, far more destructive even deadlier (literally) than any atomic/nuclear bomb.

Come let us Reason (Is 1:18). Peace is always a Choice (Mt 5:9).
Study, Ponder, Labor, till last Breath (2 Tm 2:15 / Cl 3:23).

The economy is rigged

The economy is rigged, meaning, by government it is gravely planned, regulated, taxed, fined, licensed, subsidized, monetized, redirected (or misdirected) per loans at artificial low interest rates, as well parts of it monopolized, prohibited, sanctioned, banned, embargoed and so on. So if a private investor legally, financially outwits most by correctly anticipating a bust to the government's bubble, none of his/her activities should be judged as questionable. If a politician, bureaucrat or crony does the same, all of his/her activities should be judged as questionable.

BILL of RIGHT

If such understanding forms and foments, then solely amid ceaseless study, ponder and labor, concluding first in part, later in whole, to logically respect then ethically regard, hence fervently declaring then firmly establishing in this manner.

If to choose, which should I fear more?

So far, 130,000+ cases of coronavirus for 2019/2020 season in the US, 2,300+ deaths, and projected to rise. (To be fair to both sides of the argument, I modified Friday's numbers I posted yesterday per this morning's reports. Still, I hold to my positions thus below critical questions.)

So far, 14,000,000+ cases of influenza for 2019/2020 season in the US, 310,000+ hospitalizations and 18,000+ deaths, and projected to rise.

If to choose, which should I fear more? Which would more likely overwhelm hospitals? Which of the two should be exhausting medical supplies and home products? And if for one why not for both, government executive-ordering so to shutdown schools, and businesses, cripple the economy, bail out corporations, print more money as well promote social distancing?

Euphoric Populism, Mystic Intellectualism and Ecclesiastic even Pontific Statism

Perhaps children today when adults 20, 30 or 40 years from now, will usher in a Neo-Age of Enlightenment, individually pursuing once again Fact, Logic, Consistency, Science, Ethic thus Truth, upon having witnessed and suffered the early 21st century's economical, academical, societal, political as well moral declination and destruction per their forebears' pandemic psychosis resulting from decades of unquestionable reverence for Euphoric Populism, Mystic Intellectualism and Ecclesiastic even Pontific Statism.

They know what they are doing.?

Its one thing for government leaders to presume they know what they are doing. It is quite another thing and quite astonishing for people to assume government leaders know what they are doing. Yet here we are, prepared and primed upon decades of conditioning to follow government leaders into full-blown police statism, economic fascism thus grotesque monetarism. Proof? The last few weeks!
