A bit of trivia. George MacDonald's writings influenced C.S. Lewis' transition from atheism to Christianity, as one might conclude by reading The Great Divorce. But not really the point in posting this quote... I would state more clearer, "moral" men would not desire to govern their fellowmen, and certainly not covet political power to manipulate and confiscate the behavior and possession of
others.
