Saturday well spent... Italian brewed coffee with bit of Venezuelan distilled rum while studying and writing, then drove midday to local soccer games, returned to bake some oat bread then boil up some potato soup loaded with celery, sweet onion, carrots, bacon with a bottle of Southern Pecan beer and topped with water for broth, thus enjoyed a modest bowl that evening complimented with whiskey then 4 1/2 mason jars worth of soup to store.
"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
Samuel Adams (1722-1803)
"Man is free at the moment he wishes to be."
Voltaire (1694-1778)
"Liberty is the natural condition of the people. Servitude, however, is fostered when people are raised in subjection. People are trained to adore rulers. While freedom is forgotten by many there are always some who will never submit."
Étienne de La Boétie (1530-1563)
